A Tier 2 Security Analyst at QBE with Associate degrees in IT-Cybersecurity and IT-Cloud DevOps. Prior to my career in Information Technology, I was a Photojournalist for eight years with an Associate Degree in Visual Communications at Madison College.During my time in the IT-Security department at Madison College, I’ve had the opportunity to increase my threat hunting and OSINT utilization skills through a multitude of incidents. This includes analyzing logs through Splunk, using advanced queries in Microsoft Defender 365 to bring up correlating events across the infrastructure, and using Azure resources to observe asset activity. The configuration and monitoring of these assets has also given me a great deal of experience in Identity Access Management. I’ve also had the opportunity to lead several projects including an employee training program with regular webinars that I host. The goal of these sessions is to connect with the users who come from a separate line of work and find the best ways to keep them educated on how to keep the workplace safe from digital threats. Some of these subjects have included: Phishing, Password Management, AI Utilization and the impact on cyber security, Internet of Things, and more.In addition to my incident response experience, my education has given me a strong understanding of network configuration with a combination of assets such as Amazon Web Services, VMware, and the Microsoft Azure Suite. I’ve also learned more about how I can utilize my scripting ability to manage a service more efficiently through PowerShell, Python, BASH shell, and YAML.
