After going through a program at the Vail Leadership Institute, my cohort coined me with the purpose of "Building Community through Commerce" and that woke me up to what drives me.After doing the opening speech at the Maverick Innovation Center at CMU, I met the director Tom Benton and thus began a partnership to see how we could help students experiment and execute on their ideas. Giving students experienced real world mentors and work experience allows them the room to try new things with the knowledge that there is a world of opportunity and a network waiting to help.

LAUNCH West CO is a new initiative out of Grand Junction, CO to build a network and community of entrepreneurs, developers, designers and other entrepreneurial-minded people. LAUNCH exists to create connections, foster collaboration and to give a singular, strong voice to the entrepreneurial community in our region.We believe that we are better together than apart, which is why we continue to develop relationships with the communities that make up the Western Colorado region: Grand Junction, Montrose, Mountain Village, Telluride, Gunnison, Glenwood Springs, Vail, Aspen, Durango and more. My passion for entrepreneurship and economic development led me to take an idea to fruition with an amazing team. We created a web app to quantify lifestyle wants first when users were trying to find a place to live. Current site selector software starts with a location. We start with things like hiking, biking, skiing, river access, and then quantify those wants with assets of a community. We match a human/company to a location versus starting with a location. This allows "hidden" towns to be seen and analyzed for those looking to move.

I joined the team of YourClarity.co to bring light to the awareness problem of sexual assault on campuses. The lack of execution by the schools is further exasperated by the fact that they get grants and do not use them effectively. I was honored to bring my business experience to the team and work on a project that was completely outside my comfort zone to bring awareness to this. Unfortunately, the leaders decided to abandon the project.

Pitched and won a startup weekend on an idea I had been working on for a year. Had only 3 team members, but we were all committed to the idea. Mentors actually jumped in to help! Launched the website/app in 54 hours utilizing APIs to Facebook and Amazon.One judge offered us money at the Q&A round!
