Prior to Florida, Knicely joined the Greater Columbus Arts Council as President. Knicely provided vision and leadership, advocacy and collaboration to support art and advance the culture of the region. He successfully restructured the grant-making process to be a peer-review and transparent process. Knicely served on cultural delegations to Germany, Denmark, Chile and China.Knicely was the Assistant Director & ADA Coordinator of the Maine Arts Commission. He received two awards from the governor for outstanding leadership and service, as well as two awards for his marketing and branding campaigns. He recently completed his certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through Cornell University, and he was previously selected to participate in the Harvard Business School’s Performance Measurements for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations in order to enhance the Creative Economy movement in Maine. Knicely worked with trade missions to France, an exchange with Aomori, Japan and as a cultural ambassador to Cuba.Knicely is the founder of (Re)Create Consulting. He has worked with the National Endowment for the Arts and served as a grants panelist.
