Thanks for visiting my profile. Conversations welcome!bryan@bryengineering.com | (509) 995-1988I am a resourceful and conscientious mechanical engineer with diversified experience in the manufacturing industry. As an engineer, I continuously strive to improve any situation or process that could use improving. Additionally, I enjoy the challenge of being able to create things that are complicated yet elegant. Taking something simple as a “napkin drawing” or a nebulous thought, and using my engineering skills and creativity develop a functional and value-product that exceeds expectations is one of my strengths.Being able to encourage others to continue learning is another one of my strengths. I’m driven by the excitement that arises when people learn something new and when I am able to provide a method that will help make their job easier and safer. With every opportunity whether in my role or in community, I try to look for “the teaching moments.”I have become known as 3D printing expert, along with the expert in various areas, including tooling and purchasing. At Parker Hannifin, I was the on-site 3D printing and setup expert. There, I taught my colleagues design for 3D printing, and I also guided and mentored our Lean Manufacturing and Engineering Teams on machine shop skills and machine/tool usage for fabrication shops. I also researched and implemented the latest tools, which increased efficiency and safety.Beyond the scope of my Manufacturing Engineer role, I always encourage others to continue learning and explore their curious side. I embrace teaching at every available opportunity. For example, As the Chair and Event Coordinator of the local Society of Manufacturing Engineers chapter (SME 248), I organize and host tours of manufacturing facilities so other curious individuals and family members can experience “How It’s Made” in person. Additionally, as the local Lead Robot Inspector for FIRST Robotics Competition, I teach students how to quickly and effectively fix their robots, meet the design/safety rules, and get back in the game. My areas of expertise include:DESIGN:•Machine design•Robotics and automated systems•Tooling and fixture design•Design for manufacturing•Design for 3D printingCONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:•Process improvements•Tooling and fixture design•Poka yoke•3D Printing•Problem solving and troubleshootingPROJECT MANAGEMENT:•Lean Value Stream Layouts•New Equipment Commissioning•Multiple Work TransfersLEADERSHIP•Mentoring•Coaching•Teaching Teams•On-Boarding
