In December 2011 I transferred to our parent company, Xerox, to serve as product manager for their Xerox Mortgage Services business unit. Their flagship product is BlitzDocs, a collaboration and document management tool for the mortgage industry. I was responsible for managing our product release cycle, determining which enhancements make it into future.

In 2009 the founder of eRX retired and I took over the management of the business. At that time we had about fifteen employees and annual revenue of about $1.3 million. However, we were also spending that much and more, having never turned a profit in the five years of our existence. By the end of 2009, however, we trimmed our headcount and reduced other.

In 2003 I was asked to lead a team in creating a web-based platform for recording real estate documents, originally known as eRX or the "Electronic Recordation Exchange". My team created the system using ASP for the UI, VB6 COM objects for the business layer, and SQL Server 7 for the data store. By 2007 the business had grown large enough to justify having.

As Software Development Manager, I was responsible for hiring for our professional services organization, which grew very rapidly at this time. I managed anywhere from four to fourteen developers and support technicians depending on how we were structured at the time. In addition, I was responsible for our group's first foray into offshore development.

I hired on at ACS as a software developer in 2001. I was responsible for introducing web technologies to the company's existing document imaging and management suite of technologies. I created an invoice tracking system for PepsiAmericas, an online document viewer for GMAC Mortgage, and an early version of a web service to allow Washington Mutual to.

At Stonebridge Technologies I was a consultant working on a new provisioning system for Williams Communications Group, an early provider of fiber-optic networks for business clients. We did most of our development in ASP and Enterprise Java Beans on an Oracle data model.

My first technology job, I landed the corporate webmaster gig as part of a bargain with our CIO: I would work for him at below-market rates if he would hire me even though I had no experience in software development. The bargain paid off; I learned ASP and ColdFusion and he got a corporate intranet and web site on the cheap.
