I'm a seasoned software development executive with more than eighteen years experience creating technology solutions for the mortgage industry. I've held roles ranging from software developer to development manager to technology director, business manager, strategist, and product manager. As a developer, I created document imaging and retrieval applications that reached tens of thousands of users across a wide spectrum of Fortune 500 financial services firms. As a business manager, I turned around a $2 MM start-up organization that was losing money, bringing it to a 60% margin business in under two years under extremely tight financial and operational constraints. As a product management VP, I helped set direction for a $45 MM document management organization that handles some 20% of the mortgage volume in the US market.I love getting my hands dirty and solving problems. I know every angle of a software development business and thrive in an environment where I stay involved in all those functions. Creating bulletproof apps with graceful user interfaces and elegant code makes me very, very happy.

Director, Product ManagementIce Mortgage Technology Oct 2016 - PresentAfter helping out in the strategy group for a year, I'm taking over product management for e-recording - by far our largest product. Most of my professional experience has involved e-recording, so I'm looking forward to returning to an area where I have some expertise.

Business ManagerErxchange, An Acs Company Feb 2009 - Dec 2011In 2009 the founder of eRX retired and I took over the management of the business. At that time we had about fifteen employees and annual revenue of about $1.3 million. However, we were also spending that much and more, having never turned a profit in the five years of our existence. By the end of 2009, however, we trimmed our headcount and reduced other expenses, while also increasing revenue to almost $2 million. When I left the position in December of 2011, our annual revenue was about $2.3 million with a profit margin of close to 55%.

Director Of TechnologyErxchange, An Acs Company Jan 2007 - Feb 2009In 2003 I was asked to lead a team in creating a web-based platform for recording real estate documents, originally known as eRX or the "Electronic Recordation Exchange". My team created the system using ASP for the UI, VB6 COM objects for the business layer, and SQL Server 7 for the data store. By 2007 the business had grown large enough to justify having a dedicated technology staff and I took on the role of Director of Technology, where I was responsible for the development, hosting, and support of the product, with teams in India, Guatemala, and various locations in the US.

Software Development ManagerAffiliated Computer Services Dec 2003 - Dec 2006As Software Development Manager, I was responsible for hiring for our professional services organization, which grew very rapidly at this time. I managed anywhere from four to fourteen developers and support technicians depending on how we were structured at the time. In addition, I was responsible for our group's first foray into offshore development, travelling to Bangalore, India in late 2004 to hire six programmers for our team. I managed this group for several more years, integrating them into our onshore team and training them to serve as primary support for a number of our software products.

I created an invoice tracking system for PepsiAmericas, an online document viewer for GMAC Mortgage, and an early version of a web service to allow Washington Mutual to display documents stored in their FileNet system to customers using their corporate web site.

Corporate WebmasterPennwell 1999 - 2000Tulsa, Ok, UsMy first technology job, I landed the corporate webmaster gig as part of a bargain with our CIO: I would work for him at below-market rates if he would hire me even though I had no experience in software development. The bargain paid off; I learned ASP and ColdFusion and he got a corporate intranet and web site on the cheap.
