As part of the small team responsible for the curation and management of the Memorial's two Honour Rolls, the Roll of Honour and Commemorative Roll, I:• Undertake research into Honour Rolls cases and document findings, ensuring a high level of accuracy and close attention to detail• Provide advice to the Memorial’s Senior Management and Council on Honour Rolls policy, operation eligibility, and the addition or amendment of individual names• Action, draft and/or respond to general enquiries and Executive and Ministerial correspondence• Develop and maintain the Honour Rolls database and liaise with key stakeholder organisations

Employed on a 2-year contract to assist in the curation and management of the Memorial’s large and diverse Private Records collection. I was responsible for:• Assessing offers of donation• Cataloguing and housing archival collections and organising collection conservation• Copyright assessments• Responding to internal and external enquiries• Researching and writing engaging online content for broad audiencesI also selected material and drafted labels for the changeover of peacekeeping collections on display in the Post-1945 Gallery in 2020, and spearheaded a collaborative project to rehouse, re-catalogue, conserve and digitise the 3,562-item Vivian Bullwinkel collection (PR01216).From December 2020 to December 2021, my key responsibilities were to support the development of the Peacekeeping and East Timor galleries as part of the Memorial’s Our Continuing Story project. I collaborated with a cross-institutional team to:• Survey, research and recommend collections for potential display• Develop exhibition stories and provide research support for multimedia displays• Liaise with donors, veterans and external stakeholders• Support and provide feedback to the gallery designers

My thesis examined the shifting constructions of Australian military heroism from the colonial conflicts of the nineteenth century to the end of the Vietnam War. My research was particularly concerned with how the concept and recognition of heroism evolved over time, and the ways in which politics, gender and operational demands shaped perceptions of wartime heroism.As a research candidate, I developed skills in original research, complex data collection, critical analysis, project management, peer review, and excellent written and oral communication.

I taught into a range of face-to-face and online undergraduate and Honours History courses. My key responsibilities included:• Supervise a team of up to nine tutors and oversee a student cohort of over 470 students• Manage course administration (including online course site), devise assessment tasks and marking rubrics, and oversee examinations• Prepare and facilitate weekly lectures, tutorials and discussion forums• Handle student enquires and consultations, accommodate students with accessibility plans, and deal with cases of academic misconduct• Communicate complex or difficult concepts, and teach skills fundamental to history and academic success• Exercise academic judgement and provide constructive feedback for various pieces of assessment, ranging from short reflective exercises to digital assessments, oral presentations, examinations, and capstone research projectsMy teaching excellence was reflected in my being nominated for the UON Professional Development Prize for Sessional Academic Staff in 2016, and jointly receiving a DVC(A) Educator Innovation and Impact Award in 2019.

I worked with academics in the School of Humanities and Social Science and the School of Psychology on five distinct research projects. These included manuscript preparation work for Dr James Bennett and Dr Kate Ariotti’s edited collection "Australians and the First World War" (Palgrave, 2017), and Dr Kate Ariotti's monograph "Captive Anzacs" (Cambridge University Press, 2018). Core tasks included:• Proofread, format, index and prepare book and journal article manuscripts for publication• Liaise with book editors and individual chapter contributors• Locate relevant primary and secondary source material in digital archive databases• Survey pertinent literature and summarise key arguments• Edit, refine and format doctoral theses for submission

I was the inaugural Peer Assisted Study Sessions Leader in the History discipline, working with students in the compulsory first-year undergraduate course HIST1001: Europe and the World. Key duties included:• Facilitate four one-hour cooperative group study sessions per week• Guide students in discussion, grappling with historiographical debates, texts and key themes within the course• Promote an inclusive and collaborative group environment to empower students to effectively complete assessment tasks, respond to academic feedback and refine research skills• Contribute content and study exercises to the nascent PASS Online website

Employed with the nightfil team in a medium-size Woolworths supermarket. Primary tasks included:• Supervise a team of up to twenty during nightly operations, on occasion assuming higher responsibilities as store duty manager• Audit and manage stock levels• Track nightfil progress to meet performance targets, providing advice to senior management• Observe and abide by WHS and manual handling practices, particularly in the operation of the cardboard baler and the pedestrian forklift
