As a recent college graduate, I have had a respectable amount of jobs and experiences, but now I am looking for a career. Starting from when I was 16 years old to graduating from college I have managed having a part time job with the time restraints of being a student athlete. I believe that the time management skills that I have developed from being a collegiate athlete, working part time, and carrying a full time class load while still managing to graduate with a double major in four years has prepared me for the possible stress and fast pace work environment I am looking to join.Having been an female athlete for nearly the entirety of my life with whichever sport I happen to be playing at the time - soccer, volleyball, basketball, or track- I have always been able to get along with my team mates and communicate in a respectful and productive way, which with teams of 15+ girls is no small feat. This skill has helped me to develop communication skills along with collaboration skills while nurturing my competitive spirit. As a two time collegiate All-American Women's Basketball player I have shown my ability to thrive in a team work environment.Directly following my graduation from Austin College I left for Peace Corps Tanzania where I would be teaching STEM subjects at a secondary school. During training, the Peace Corps staff tells you that resilience is the key to a successful service, I have found that this statement could not be more true.
