Our group analyzed public firms to give them credit ratings which allowed AMEX to understand their credit risk. We gave ratings to large public firms across 10+ different industries. I loved this internship because it allowed me to use and grow my analytical skills. As our team matured in our roles, we were better able to use industry and financial analysis to give large firms credit ratings. At first, being tasked with assigning a credit rating to a large firm was daunting, however, our team banded together to learn the ins and outs of the rating process. During this role, I utilized my knowledge of systems such as Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills learned in various courses in the business school.

I transferred to the fishing section of the Des Moines location in 2021. I was responsible for helping customers with fishing supplies such as fishing electronics, rods, reels, and lures. I absolutely loved my time at Scheels. Working in the fishing department never felt like work. One of my favorite parts of this job was helping individuals who were going fishing for the first time get set up with the right gear and then hearing about their success. During my time at Scheels, I learned the importance of quality customer service, how to sell a product you believe in, and how to work in a fast paced environment.

Our team of 5 students completed a market feasibility study for a potential new platform for GOTR. We performed SWOT and competitor analysis, held interviews with stakeholders to see if their problems fit the solution the new platform would offer. I served as team lead where my responsibilities included conducting two weekly team meetings to help optimize performance, ensuring that all team members were on track with their deliverables, and working alongside team members to complete important tasks before deadlines.

I helped create a positive shopping experience for customers by following a 5-step selling process that focused on the needs of the customer, and I received many customer complements due to this process. I researched different models of winter accessories, athletic wear, and fashion wear across 20 brands to better know which products would better suit the needs of customers.

During my time in Arizona, I was responsible for supervising the day to day work of full-time volunteers. I worked directly with the President to help set goals and make plans to help increase productivity across 140 volunteers in Southwest Arizona. I was assigned with the responsibilities of making spreadsheets based on volunteer performance, and coordinating transfers of volunteers to different areas.

I helped manage the upkeep and maintenance of a 40 acre property consisting of different housing lots available for purchase. My responsibilities included mowing, weeding, and trimming the property. I am experienced in driving tractors and skid loaders.
