Significantly contribute to the strategic planning, development, implementation and on-going best practice standards by delivering best practice standards for SAPOL’s corporate accommodation and operational facilities requirements by:- Assisting with the delivery of major projects and managing low to mid range projects – including to plan, initiate, manage, deliver, report on and review assigned projects to support delivery of modern, fit for purpose assets using value for money thinking;- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, with proactive management to ensure best practice outcomes, including delivery to agreed design specifications, meeting end user requirements, delivered to approved quality parameters, with effective risk identification and risk mitigation/management, and providing accurate and well documented project tracking and budget reporting;-Providing practical advice for strategies to address emerging issues relevant to Capital works projects;- Providing support to SAPOL’s project consultation, project meetings and stakeholder communication activities;- Preparing reports, briefing papers and contributing to business case analyses on property retention / disposal based on life cycle costing for assets and key infrastructure improvement projects;- Ensuring consistency with relevant legislation and Whole of Government; accommodation directions, standards and policies, in particular Government Office Accommodation policy and standards;- Identifying and responding to any project related alterations to Corporate property holdings, including the acquisition, disposal, redevelopment or refurbishment of facilities or change in lease arrangements;- Contributing actively to continuous improvement in Capital Works Unit processes and practices, to drive improvements in SAPOL’s physical assets portfolio.

The Facility Manager is responsible for managing very large projects and works programs and associated contractors, project teams in the development and provision of total facilities management services across multiple government agencies in accordance with the Across Government Facilities Management Arrangements (AGFMA). The role delivers a responsive single point of contact service to client agencies, interprets technical and procedural matters, delivers expert building advice and ensures all works are undertaken in accordance with Australian Standards, Codes of Practice, government policy and relevant legislation.
