Bryce Mielke earned his high school diploma at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, IL (2020). He graduated in the top 1% of his class, after completing a STEM-driven curriculum. Throughout high school, Bryce led his Scouting troop serving as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader before transitioning to Senior Patrol Leader. Bryce completed his Eagle Scout Project in 2020 while navigating through the difficulties of COVID-19 precautions. While establishing a safe environment, Bryce was able to facilitate the donation, installation, and finalization of an outdoor patio at the York Township Senior Center. Bryce studies Health Science as an undergraduate at the University of Miami. The Health Science Program focuses on strong scientific and analytical skills combined with advanced writing and communication development, with specialized areas such as nutrition, anatomy, physiology, and genetics. Before his first year at the University of Miami, Bryce was accepted and began the Health Professions Mentoring Program (HPM) on campus, which aims to prepare students for admission to medical school through an enriched curriculum as well as academic and professional mentoring. Bryce is also immersing himself within the University's culture, becoming an Orientation Fellow for the 2021 academic school year. As an Orientation Fellow, Bryce facilitates the transition for incoming students to the university by leading group discussions on important university-related topics and connecting new students to essential campus resources.Bryce desires to begin a research and professional character development agenda by actively searching for applicable experiences and clinical medicine shadowing opportunities.
