I am a Furniture Design MFA student studying at Savannah College of Art and Design. Graduating during the start of COVID, I had an immense amount of free time. I utilized this time to work in my garage, crafting structures out of wood and aluminum and sketching my ideas to self-learn industrial design. I created my own business crafting custom campers for trucks and trailers via “Moon Campers”, and a small shop creating pet furniture to pay off my undergraduate student loans. As I applied for graduate school, I was fortunate to become the only Industrial Designer to receive a Fellowship at SCAD. With this, I play a leading role in representing the program to future students and employers. Here at SCAD, I have shifted my focus to furniture design to be able to further study the concept of "home" to extend the meaning of “home” for those without, those who are searching, and those who have.
