• Led 5-person team responsible for autonomous and motorized latched multi-stage parachute deployment for a camera-based payload launched from rocket.

• Organized a team of 5 students to design and manufacture a unique and fully modular avionics bay housing, flight electronics, and an external flight camera holster.
• Led 10-person team to design unique longitudinally and diametrically adjustable solid rocket motor stand capable of recording up to 5000 N peak thrust, temperature, and axial/hoop strain.
• Designed overall IREC vehicle layout, material selection, and autonomous separation schematic.
• Advised over and contributed to many of the technical aspects of rocket construction for both NASA Student Launch and IREC competitions, employing DFM and manufacturing knowhow.

• Investigated noncompliant solid rocket engine parts and improved processes to prevent future errors.
• Developed standard operating procedures to use new press and cutting table tooling to reduce the number of noncompliant high-cost missile parts. Trained operators in their use.
• Executed process of making procedure changes whilst in frozen planning set by customer, including work with government tooling and contracts.
• Assisted in transition from plants paper-based operating procedures to a digital system (DELMIA).

• Utilized FEA software, Solidworks simulations, and hand calculations to design a planetary gearbox for the university’s first FSAE Electric Motorsports competition.
• Worked on projects such as simulating optimum final drive ratio using MATLAB simulation of the track, as well as designing the motor mount and the accumulator cooling setup using heat transfer.

• Used CAD and STAR-CCM simulation software to design and test the outer-body of a full scale solar-powered race car. Led to a 25% reduction in unwanted drag force at operating speed.

• Constructed high-power rockets under tutelage and guidance of NASA engineers, who critiqued technical design documentation regarding a rocket and its construction.
• Worked on and was responsible for the rocket’s entire design and simulated performance. Also acted as safety personnel whilst guiding the rocket’s physical construction and flight tests.
• Developed and programmed an LED atmospheric light detecting payload.

• Utilized and programmed robotic arm to conduct research with a unique Magnetic Abrasive Finishing tool.
• Processed microscopic data to characterize tool performance, as to enhance machining process used on laser-grade YAG ceramics.
