Software Engineer
- Worked primarily within the PaCMan (Price and Cost Management) team, a highly cross-functional and collaborative team that houses over 120+ applications dedicated to creating, validating, and publishing price changes to over 2200+ stores in North America.- Played a key role in accelerating the development of the "That's Only" application, where I created a new application UI from scratch that was originally written to be compatible with Adobe Flash (Flash was retiring in Dec 2023). The project was estimated for completion in 2 months, together with my team we developed and deployed in just 3 weeks.- Redeveloped an application "Pacman Portal", which when handed to me was an incomplete attempt at using module federation with React.js components to stitch together all our UIs under one deployment, while being able to incrementally deploy the individual apps, increasing our deployment velocity. I worked with a Software Engineer Principal to adjust our UI stack to use Vite.js, and leveraged Vite's module bundler "Rollup" to do a better, complete implementation of module federation. My implementation included a custom declarative config file that I built a parser for to describe how the apps appear in the portal's sidebar, and what class of users are authorized to use each app. I also wrote thorough documentation on how to add apps to the portal, the high level of our module federation architecture, and how to proxy API requests from the portal to their respective apps. The portal is being used today, and engineers are still (happily) adding new apps to it using the documentation I left behind.- Worked on a number of other projects, including SOMM, Crown Bolt, and Livegoods, which are all initiatives that decrease our merchant's and vendor's time-to-market on price changes across different classes of SKUs.
Software Engineer Intern
- Adjusted a desktop-only UI design to be compatible with mobile by using media queries to convert a table layout into a scrollable cards layout so SVPs can validate store prices from their cell phones during store walks.- Made a key change in our UI (React.js) and API (Spring Boot) allowing merchants to edit temporary price change end dates up to the day before another price change would go into effect for any D/C/S (Department/Class/Subclass) that shared a store/market. This validation expanded potential revenue since merchants could extend sales that were performing well with greater precision.
Associate
My journey with The Home Depot started as a Cashier for Store #0931. I had received a referral from my high school friends who worked at the store that I believe helped me get the job 🙂
Software Engineering Advisor
- Developed Lookio, a digital product that allows recruiters to run social media checks on candidates that have a following large enough to impact their company's reputation and brand.- Hired a UX Designer to create MVP wireframes and set the visual look and feel framework for the application.- Wrote over 20,000 lines of code (without ChatGPT 🙄) utilizing the following languages and frameworks to build the customer-facing and admin-facing applications: Javascript + React.js, Java + Spring Boot.- Created UML diagrams for the entire PostgreSQL database structure as to provide documentation for myself and future developers going forward.- Hosted in Google Cloud using Cloud Run, Cloud SQL Enterprise Edition, and API calls to Vertex AI foundational models such as Gemini 1.5 Pro and PaLM 2 Unicorn that are parameter tuned specifically for Lookio's use cases.- Actively continuing development on the project as we validate the idea via PMF (product-market-fit) testing.
