I was privileged to speak at numerous security, law and business conferences on topics of critical importance around technical, political and economic security, and regularly quoted in top media outlets such as Bloomberg, The Financial Times, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal and CNN. I contributed my expertise to the Interpol Global Cybercrime Experts Group, to help the international fight against cybercrime.

Working with stakeholders across all business divisions and technology areas, I built the team that delivered UBS's security strategy for the next 5 years. Drove the consolidation of entitlement management solutions, introduced rigorously segmented security architectures, and architected the data protection strategy.I worked with strategic vendors to align their technology strategy with the needs of the bank, and drive increased value from existing investments. I also assisted investment banking researchers and deal makers in understanding the security software market, strengthening relationships with VCs and helping the bank win advisory business.

I was actively involved in Incident Response and Investigation Support for both external and insider threat activity. Later I built parts of the Vulnerability Management strategy including development of scanning and reporting technologies. I provided expertise for global security initiatives such as Global Vulnerability Management Team and Enterprise Network Steering Committee

I designed and implemented a high-speed high-security scalable virtual hosting datacentre for 2000+ servers, including an early content-delivery network (CDN), and drove the build out of an international WAN to DCs across Europe. I also contributed on a team developing a virtual shared hosting platform (what is now considered IAAS).

I founded a specialist consultancy providing Internet solution architecture, implementation and operation services, network/firewall/VPN services, web/email security services, and technical security testing services. End customers included the NZ Government, PWC, Woolworths, and BellSouth (now Vodafone NZ). One of my final engagements was the design and implementation of an early SaaS model of virtualised Windows desktop delivery.
