Cougar Capital is an evergreen private equity and venture capital fund managed by 14-second year MBA students. The fund invests alongside top-tier VC/PE firms in early and late stage tech companies. The fund has generated a near-5x return on invested capital since its inception in 2005.The Director of Finance's main responsibilities include: manage the monthly financials of the fund, execute wire transfers for investments, work with partner firms to maintain updated valuation of current portfolio, coordinate with BYU Treasurer to manage investment certificates.Additionally, it is the general responsibility of all team members to evaluate investment opportunities in tech startups, conduct due diligence and valuation work for each, and present to the investment committee for approval.
