At Mission Support and Test Services (MSTS), I supported Global Security and Nuclear Stockpile Stewardship missions at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). This role was a deep dive into the junction of data science, national defense, and nuclear science.My main task was strategic metric analysis. Using Excel and Maximo, I performed detailed performance analysis, uncovering key operational improvements that aligned with our objectives. This work demanded a strong grasp of quantitative methods and data patterns.I solved a longstanding legacy issue by developing a new data entry system. This wasn't just a fix, but a leap forward in our data capture process, leading to more informed decision-making in our organization.Under the mentorship of seasoned professionals, I sharpened my data visualization skills. I transformed complex datasets into clear, visual presentations, presenting these findings directly to a company senior director. This experience confirmed the importance of effective data communication in executive settings.In summary, my tenure at MSTS was a valuable immersion into the nuclear science industry. It was an opportunity to refine my analytical skills, solve real-world data problems, and see firsthand the impact of data science on strategic decision-making. I taught young swimmers in my community important water safety skills so that they could be safe and comfortable in and around pools. I taught preteens basic swimming proficiency so they could be confident in their ability to swim in open bodies of water. I also worked with the Swim School's Program Manager to curate an efficient and easily executable swim school teaching program.
