Scope writing for several projects included AC ventilation upgrades for a substation, backup diesel generator replacement.Undertook the project of replacing a backup diesel generator on site involving the preliminary research, comparing both the loads, sizing and connections and the general arrangement drawings, schematics and single line diagrams with the physical system in place. Additionally, I contacted possible suppliers and contractors for quotes and technical data.Completed an economic-based analysis of the possibility to complement the diesel generator with a portable load back for improving generator reliability. Undertook the project of upgrading the protection systems on a ventilation fan motor. This included comparing the current level of protection with the capabilities of a modern motor protection relay and completing a short justification for the project. I then completed all the high voltage distribution single line diagrams, power schematics and substation panel modifications. Compiled smart relay manuals and arc protection relay maintenance guides for techniciansReviewed transmission and distribution lines to be able to source power meters. This included multiple site visits to verify the systems, either being CT connected or direct connected. Additionally, I research the communication systems possible for the power meters, looking into cable systems, cellular modems. Radio modems and telemetry options. Assisted a graduate engineer with one of their projects, being the installation of two slurry meter. This entailed multiple on-site visits reviewing the communication logic of an existing meter and possible locations for the meter and providing the graduate with the first drafts of red line control schematics and power systems. Participate in weekly safety meetings
