SAA includes airlines, airports, airplane manufacturers, government agencies and other interested parties such as energy suppliers. I led the establishment of the partnership and was its first chairperson.

Led the strategic direction and investment planning for New Zealand’s transport system. Responsible for managing a $10 billion investment portfolio and ensuring the integration of technology, urban development, and emissions reduction into national transport strategies and their delivery.

Led the delivery of critical natural justice services covering about one million recipients of social services across New Zealand, ensuring that complaints and advocacy processes provided effective resolution and led to service change. This included oversight of local complaints processes (including managing about 200 appointments in local communities) and delivering second-line and nationally-based processes directly.

Led major change programmes to improve delivery and drive long-term, sustainable reforms in MSD’s structure and operations.While in the role, I was awarded a public service leadership fellowship. Through this, I travelled to the United Kingdom where I was a guest of government and non-government agencies, and studied cross-agency and cross-sector leadership and collaboration.
