A Fitter / Welder B, by trade after leaving school 1981 at 15 Years old. I then founded a manufacturing engineering company in 1991, Metalcraft Engineering Co Ltd, T/A The Glass Racking Company, which became the industry leader for flat glass and window handling & transportation solutions, having the great pleasure in working with the industry leaders worldwide designing and supplying solutions to allow them to reduce rework.and transit damage.Successfully selling the company September 2024, has allowed me to continue my passion for trades and work-based learning with the manufacturing and associated industries.My experiences servings on work-based and campus-based governance boards with my own trade and 34 years of self employment, allows me to offer real world governance and leadership.I enjoy my role as a mentor/leader for manufacturing and industry training sectors supporting other SME's with their processes and manufaturing systems, specialising in Just in Time processes and export goals.In 2011 and 2012, I was nominated as a finanlist in the New Zealand, emerging international leadership awards.I am proud of my Life Time achievement awards for both the New Zealand Manufacturing Exporters Association and Underwater Hockey New Zealand.
