Altruism: I enjoy spending a lot of my time giving back to the community. I was a part of a local organization in high school called Peer Led Life Skills which went to local middle schools and taught kids helpful skills, like how to use social media safely. In my last year, I gave the new coordinator helpful insights on lessons and planning that allowed the program to successfully expand from teaching at 2 schools to teaching at 6 in only a year. Adaptability: I was a peer tutor in high school, so I would spend my lunch everyday helping students who had below a 3.0 GPA. I had to adapt my teaching style frequently since I worked with multiple students who each had different subjects they struggled with and different learning methods. With my help, I was able to see a handful of students exceed the 3.0 GPA benchmark and get to move on from the program.Collaboration: I've played competitive soccer since I was eight years old, so I've learned how to work with a variety of different people. Having 18 girls spend so much time together in a competitive environment, there's bound to be some tension, but I always took it upon myself to try to mediate the situation, saving the team from many arguments.
