Updated: June, 2024A paralegal by profession, I have been able to utilize my various academic diplomas, and Associate’s Degree, to pursue many volunteer and employment opportunities over the past two decades. Currently, I am in the process of making a career change from both law and entrepreneurship to pursue a degree in Earth Sciences, with a focus on planetary mapping.I currently work for Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Strategic Funding Team, EPIP, in EM. I oversee science communication content for our sunsetted CRF program, for the newly launched AERF program, and review grant agreements under IHPP.My research is currently with the International Venus Research Group and I map geologic formations on Venus in order to determine planetary geologic history, and potential landing sites for future missions, using NASA’s Magellan mission radar images.My work concentrates on geographic information systems, science communication, and geology to act as a liaison between organizations, government, and Indigenous communities. Resource management and policy is of great interest to me to which I can apply my legal background academics and applications.As volunteer and staff for a popular Ontario campground, I particularly enjoy employing my organizational skills to serve the community seeking recreational reprieve during the summer. Having several rescue pets in my home, what originated as being a foster for needy cats, turned into founding a federally incorporated, not for profit, small animal rescue.
