About Brynn E. Sheehan, Phd

I am a social science researcher and Director of the Research and Infrastructure Service Enterprise (RISE) at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). RISE is a team of 7 PhD and MPH trained researchers and our mission is to streamline the research process, and strengthen the research infrastructure by providing methodological and statistical support for clinician researchers. I hold a doctorate in Health Psychology and a Masters in Justice, supporting my multidisciplinary perspective on issues related to mental health and social justice. My research expertise focuses primarily on substance use, stress, and health equity and I strive to conduct research that informs health-related decision making and policies. I have published work in peer-reviewed journals, presented at national and international conferences, and have received local, state, and federal funding to support my research.
