After leaving university I started looking for my first Junior Graphic Design job, ready to enter the industry and eager to learn I found Parker Design, an amazing place to start my design career! I’ve already had the chance to work with some great clients such as AstraZeneca, Sage and United Utilities. I love that every day is different, and the varied client base means I’m always working on exciting new briefs. I always try to aim for the highest to achieve the best for myself and for clients. I have learnt so much at Parker since leaving university, the change from education to full time work is a big change but something I have embraced and I am loving every moment! I am very much looking forward to continuing to learn and develop my design skills.

I started working for Baxter Storey as a part time food service assistant during university, this then led to designing food menus, client presentations and marketing materials such as booklets to be handed out at Baxter Storey catering food events. In this role I have learnt to work to tight deadlines, to be professional when it comes to communicating back and forth with the client and understanding the clients needs. My Adobe InDesign skills have massively improved as I have learnt new ways to work, my freelance skills have also improved as I have started to understand business skills. These are all skills that are essential to my creative practice and can be taken forward to future jobs.

I had a great opportunity to exhibit a project in the University of Salford and at Manchester Central Library as part of Design Manchester 2017. This project was celebrating 50 years of the book 'The Medium is the Massage' by Marshall McLuhan, this book explores aspects of how technology transfers the message that makes us restructure perspectives on everyday life. This was my first exhibition and I was very proud to see my work displayed in a public place, this made me really look forward to the future and to other exhibitions that I could produce on a bigger scale.
