I am a Research Scientist specializing in pig production at the South Australian Research and Development Institute and an APRIL Post Doctoral Fellow. My area of expertise lies in enhancing the reproductive output and overall well-being of pigs. My passion is in understanding the reproductive and lactation processes in sows, aiming to improve the health and survival rates of piglets, especially those facing initial challenges. Furthermore my research is focusing on finding natural alternatives to antibiotic usage in early pig production.Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed researchers from various parts of the world, including Northeastern University in China, Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Rivalea Australia, and the Centre for Dairy Intelligence International. These collaborations have broadened my perspective, adding a global context to my research in pig and animal husbandry.My approach to research is heavily grounded in practical applications, with a strong focus on improving farming practices in pig production, especially in the farrowing house. I am committed to developing pig production techniques that are beneficial for farmers of all sizes.
