As an MBA with a culinary obsession, I started my career as a freelance writer for magazines like Food and Wine, Bon Appetit, AFAR, and various local publications. I worked testing, editing, and co-writing cookbooks for publishers and restaurants, then went into the restaurant business with multiple restaurant partnerships in Southeast including two here in Charleston, Melfi's and Little Jack's Tavern. After developing and perfecting flaky, layered biscuits for a restaurant partnership on the pandhandle of Florida, I realized that frozen biscuits (and the ingredients that went into them) made the best product. So, I launched a CPG brand called Brothers Gerard Baking Co. in 2020. Borthers Gerard products are now nationally distributed in over 2,000 frozen doors in retailers like Safeway, Kroger, The Fresh Market, Earth Fare, Giant, Hannaford, Busch's, Reasor's, Harmon's, Woodman's, Caputo's, and more chains and independents. As the company's founder, my mission is to grow our brand into the most known and trusted premium frozen bread brand in the country.
