Let me tell you a brief story: several years ago I helped a brand with a household name launch a fancy new commerce site. It was beautiful, shiny, and cutting edge. Five or so years later this site is functionally the same as it was when it launched. Why am I telling you this? Because that site is now so outdated it no longer inspires the even the basic trust of the consumer. It is no longer credible.
