I work primarily in employment and family law.In my family law practice I work with families in times of transition to solve problems and create plans to help facilitate communication and decision-making in the future. While my practice includes motions and trials before the court, I work hard with my clients and other professionals in the community and beyond to create an environment where parents can work together to craft their family plan for the future. My family law practice includes divorces with and without children, custody and parenting time, child support, maintenance, and third-party custody cases. In my employment law practice I represent companies in all areas of employment law including unemployment, disability accommodations, FMLA, discrimination and general liability issues. I work closely with human resource professionals to create policies and anticipate and handle employee issues and employment law litigation. I also help educate managers and staff about employment law issues through presentations and written materials.

I worked primarily in railroad defense and civil rights ligitation.

I spent a semester working in Dr. Grazyna Kochanska's Family Study lab researching children's attachment to their parents. I coordinated and conducted research sessions with families where we studied children's interaction and behavior as indicators of attachment to caregivers.

I spent a semester working with Dr. Dawn Robinson on research regarding the use of humor in the creation of power in small group settings. We specifically considered how humor was used among members of a small group to create subgroups and then how those subgroups used their cohesiveness as a subgroup to exert power over the group as a whole.
