Brian Humphrey is an experienced and trial and appellate lawyer who represents both plaintiffs and defendants in serious personal injury, wrongful death, and commercial litigation matters in both state and federal court. He has been recognized on the Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars list every year since 2016, the Top 40 Under 40 list for The National Trial Lawyers, and Houston’s Top Lawyers in H Texas Magazine, and has been invited to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has served clients with Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz since 2012.Brian has established a reputation as an expert in Texas civil procedure, and he is frequently consulted by other attorneys on a wide range of questions on both substantive and procedural law. He represents plaintiffs in a wide variety of personal injury and wrongful death matters, including maritime and industrial accidents, liquor liability, catastrophic workplace injuries, 18-wheeler wrecks, and other serious personal injury cases, represents both plaintiffs and defendants in “bet the company” business disputes and other civil litigation matters, and maintains an active appellate practice, arguing and briefing matters in the First and Fourteenth Courts of Appeals in Houston, the Texas Supreme Court, and the Fifth Circuit.Outside the courtroom, Brian is active in the legal profession. He is Past Chair of the Houston Bar Association Law Library Committee and serves on the Board of the Northeast Harris County Bar Association. He speaks at several CLE and other speaking engagements, including co-authoring the popular Supreme Court Update with Jay Jackson.Brian is a native of Ashland, Kentucky, and was raised in Virginia, Ohio, and North Carolina. When not working, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, Michelle, their young son Thomas, and their dog Sam.
