As the Head of Talent Acquisition I am responsible for developing a holistic talent acquisition strategy that delivers a compelling employment brand/career development message to engage a diverse mix of individuals who will support the delivery of our groups vision and commercial objectives. This includes leading on TA and wider talent projects and initiatives. I lead a diverse and highly connected team of talent acquisition partners and specialists who identify talent across David Jones nationally.

Established in Newcastle, Australia in 1888 by Albert F Toll, Team Global Express is now led by CEO Christine Holgate and backed by Allegro Funds, Australia's most awarded transformation and turnaround private equity firm.As part of the TA leadership team, I was responsible for helping drive the strategic direction of our full TA transformation, including the implementation of new teams, processes and a TA tech stack as well as launching our EVP as part of the overall company new brand launch.I was also responsible for leadership of national internal TA teams across the operational leadership and frontline space.

I was responsible for leading, coaching and developing a team of Talent Acquisition Managers and Consultants/BP's to deliver world class Talent solutions. I am passionate about leading a customer-oriented team who pride themselves on service excellence, utilising metrics & insights and proactive recruitment methodologies to deliver outcomes that align with the business strategy. I led and oversaw the Network Operations (COO), Project Delivery and Early Careers Talent Acquisition (TA) teams nationally for the Australia Post Groups, responsible for the recruitment of approx. 8000-9000 hires per year including our Christmas Casual recruitment drive which saw us recruit up to 5000 casuals across a 12-week period. As part of the TA senior leadership team, I was responsible for leadership of a permanent team of up to 28, including 3 Talent Acquisition Managers and up to an additional 30+ casual/FTC seasonal campaign consultants as well as supporting the strategic management and continuous improvement of our recruitment delivery models and partnering with business stakeholders to drive the businesses talent acquisition agenda. This role saw me working in partnership with the AusPost senior leadership and operational managers to deliver a ‘future of work’ people plan that supports the needs of the business both now and for the future as well as supporting the development and roll-out of our new EVP and consolidation and implementation of our new TA tech stack (ATS, CRM, Assessment tools and supporting technology).

I was responsible for the Melbourne Racing Club, Pegasus Leisure Group and Gontran Cherriers' Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning functions. As a newly created, greenfield position my responsibilities including but not limited to the design and execution of the recruitment strategy and leading a team of talent and workforce planning professionals.As a part of the People & Culture senior leadership team, I was also responsible for the delivery of some of the key HR projects including EVP, Benefits, Internal Comms and casual workforce optimisation as well as supporting the full HRIS/ATS implementation and roll out.

Initially a key member of RPO implementation team at AusPost, before transitioning onsite myself as part of the leadership team responsible for the Corporate Centre and Parcels & eCommerce business units of Australia Post and StarTrack, partnering with GMs, ‘Heads Of’ and Managers to deliver on their talent strategies as well as leadership of a small team of Talent Acquisition professionals.I worked closely with the TA and P&C senior leadership team on the development of recruitment processes and policies (including StarTrack internal mobility) and was an active member of the Communities of Practice focusing on innovation and continuous improvement. Above and beyond BAU, I was also an active participant in the Australia Post Social Media community, the Chairperson for the Business Sales Talent Council (attended by GM’s, Heads Of and Directors) and a member of a variety of working groups involved in the integration of a new CRM system.

This saw me operate as a trusted advisor to the C-suite globally where I was instrumental in introducing demand forecasting, internal succession planning and talent pooling strategies to the business.Outside of my day to day role I was also the APAC leader for the Lean-In initiative, a founding member of the APAC Diversity and Inclusion Council and a mentor to mid-level management, both internally and externally.
