Bstar, born Bernard Mathis Jr., is a recording artist and creative, adding his own uniqueness to Southern hip-hop music. Born and raised in Central Florida, this Los Angeles native aims to illustrate his vision through lyricism and delivery of his art. 
Bstar got his start in music as a child. He was a member of his school chorus and sang in the children’s choir at a church in his hometown. His transition to rap music started in high school. 
Networking with local buzzing musicians allowed Bstar to learn how to create music on a professional level. Bstar is motivated by Southern music legends like Master P and Lil Wayne, who taught him the power of perseverance, determination, and forward-thinking. Bstar performed at numerous shows and festivals in Central Florida and headlined the Central Florida Fair in Orlando at the age of 17. 
Taking a chance on himself in late 2012, Mathis relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams. He attended the Los Angeles film school in Hollywood, California, to learn filmmaking, and to shoot and direct his own music videos one day. Entering the new music scene with his debut single “Tweety,” featuring Boosie BadAzz in 2020, Bstar aims to solidify his place in the music industry.
