I help launch new technology at scale, optimally as a big "T" technology program manager. l live under the ML, Systems, and Cloud AI umbrella (MSCA) > technical program management > data center software > new product introduction (NPI). I look after the on-host network, switch, and storage portfolios. I also cover high resolution time services, and infrastructure projects. All that, and I work on data science too.

Authored best practice on hybrid voice, text, and visual design.• Owned end-to-end quality management of new apps and features, resulting in over 130 identified defects over 6 months and driving 80% closure with internal engineering teams yielding better platform quality and stability. Developed test tools to easily reproduce defects for simplified triage.• Owned Cortana Community engagement, proactively answering developer questions through social media (top 16% reputation on StackOverflow in 2019.)

• Oversaw technical execution, reporting, end-to-end testing, and launch day activity of over twenty successful customer acquisition projects, including Amazon Prime India, Twitch Prime Worldwide, Prime Music in Germany and Japan, Prime Video in Japan, and Prime Reading in the US. Products directly contributed to increased Prime market penetration in respective marketplaces. Prime Music became the fastest growing digital benefits in Germany and Japan. New Twitch Prime benefit successfully added 8-digits of “millennials” into the Prime retail and Prime Video pipelines worldwide.• Oversaw the Prime part of Amazon Japan’s seamless separation from Amazon Services International. Owned the test scripts and execution for finance and tax accounting cutover. Successfully launched without customer interruption, enabling improved cash flow and regulatory flexibility.• Ideated and launched the first phase of Twitch Prime fraud detection, investigation, and remediation program. Worked with risk management teams across Amazon to share learning and bootstrap new projects (velocity checks on payments). Drove Twitch Prime payment withholds for fraud-based payments recovering 750K USD in one year.• Coordinated activities of over 40 teams inside Amazon and Twitch, including engineers, product managers, technical program managers, marketers (in country, retail, games), business development, legal, customer service, localization, business intelligence, data processing, quality assurance, risk management, payments, finance, tax across Prime, Prime Video, Twitch, Kindle, AWS, Game Studios, Risk Management, Identity, and operations.

• Led strategic process improvement initiatives for energy companies at C and SVP level by doing audit, process re-engineering, value stream mapping, and risk-based project prioritization.• Lead the product definition and “pitch” of IoT centric, risk based, collaborative tools; delivered prototype and held VC pitches.Provided sustainability consulting, solutions and systems integration services. Sustainability consulting included business development, strategic planning, management systems development, risk management and assessment, audit, business process modeling and de-bottlenecking, and 3BL policy and practice development. Also built products, including an EHS Incident Tracker, a Risk Calculator, and an IoT based info push platform.

• Oversaw new, integrated sustainability and EHS incident management systems across business silos, eliminating redundancy, saving 1.2MM USD annually, and increasing regulatory agility by reducing regulatory reporting turnaround time. • Owned the governance, compliance, EHS, and risk portfolios for Enbridge’s 5 businesses. Identified and eliminated redundancy saving 2.5MM USD in license fees annually. Owned the 5-year technology roadmap and spend strategy.Research, road mapping, and strategic planning for governance-risk-compliance, enterprise risk management, operations risk management, and environment health and safety. Proposed strategy for risk practice areas and alignment of risk management activities.

Contributed to the design and implementation of the integrated operations management system. Included research, analysis, presentation development and communications, negotiation/facilitation (for environment/regulatory,health/safety), process modeling, development of tools and standards, data analytics and reporting, review, and program management.

The Encana divestiture of Cenovus saw me become a contingent Business Analyst for Environment, Health, Safety, and Regulatory. Acting chair of the air emission management project until April 2010, and continued analysis on emissions process. Proposed a conflict management practice for dealing with vendors. Put together a call centre protocol for contractor management as a contribution to EHS and supply chain. Contributions to the management system. EHS summary statistics reporting and analytics. Improvements to Incident Management and other EHS processes. Designed a behavioral safety process.

• Owned the development of manufacturing, scientific and engineering related software products.Solving problems enabled by technology.

A business line architect role. Analysis around environmental management systems and potential application. Developed prototype for an audit management system. Evaluation of chemical management systems and inventory applications. Vendor and opportunity analysis. Detailed analysis of the air management system including governance model, project facilitation and kick-off.

Worked with EH&S to do Business Process Modeling and Re-engineering. Some systems audit and control work. Lots of effort on the Learning Management System, including process development, systems upgrade, report development, operational competency reporting and back end support. Worked on Business Continuity and Emergency Response Planning (concept and vendor analysis of mobile based solution for ERP/DR.) Assisted in risk analysis for the split of EnCana/Cenovus as an IT advisor from the business side.

Many roles as an IT generalist; Sr. Systems Analyst, Software Developer, Technical Lead/Architect, Application Analyst, and Application Steward. I maintained "high maintenance" applications, developed new web applications, did a lot of back end operational support on database or intel servers. Many projects, not limited to the donation drive, donation matching system, EHS incident tracker, contract management system, competitive analysis application, investor relations and management (CRM), enterprise content management and well database integration (led team of 5), and more.

Principal architect and lead developer for a transitional project from a historical mainframe application to a web enabled one. Duties included design, architecture, mentoring, implementation, and testing. Final product was 3-tiered application. Agile and Rapid Prototyping were used.

Assisted in development of an Animal Identification Information System for the Wisconsin Livestock Information Consortium. Primary duties were implementing front-end of web application.

Assisted in developing a clearinghouse management system for a European exchange. Primarily responsible for design, development and testing of security framework. Also responsible for implementing a testing strategy in the broader server framework.

Back end support for a specialized document management system for Glaxo-Smith-Kline. Implemented the distributed transaction support, SMB/FTP interface, LDAP security, and more.

CTO then COO for a start up doing value add on SCADA data. Business development, product development, and technical strategy. Wrote the historian and Excel native integration. Then moved into operational support for NASD pink sheeted company; doing SEC filings, supporting shareholders, making sure people got paid. Final duties included asset dissolution and debt management.

Architect for the back end of the real-time equity reporting system (fed by the S&P ComStock service.) Maintained the old architecture; designed/implemented a new one. Evaluated TIBCO/Talarian middleware in a pilot for real-time updates to multiple services. Technical systems measurement. Implement test harness (stock feed record and playback; big data). Managed two developers.

Worked on a Y2K volumetric pipeline accounting system for Marathon/Ashland. Mostly UI and toolkit work and supporting other developers. Set up a Centre of Excellence for software development.

Team lead/architect for Hysys:Economix, a CAD tool for converting process models into real equipment and doing quantitative costing. Led a team of 2 and worked jointly with an engineering lead.

Macintosh version of the Vendor System. End-to-end digital product delivery system, from packaging onto CD-ROM, encryption, delivery, and fulfillment. (Client/Products included Adobe Type On Call, AgfaType, and Apple's Software Dispatch.) Later designed an automated fulfillment and digital delivery solution. Concept development for "metered software" (that included subscription and pay-per-use models.)

Ported Hysim chemical process simulator and Hyprop thermo package from DOS to Macintosh. Member of the Hysys Windows interface development team. Promoted ISO 9000 and SEI best practice.
