Managed the London operations department, responsible for a wide range of functions including: Cash Management, Settlements, Fund Dealing, Transitions, Data Management, Wrapped Investments, Corporate Actions & Income, Derivative Settlements and Reconciliations. Main point of escalation for any problematic operations related query. Continuously evaluating tasks, risks and controls to provide and implement recommendations for process improvements. Day to day management of staff, including recruitment, performance evaluation and disciplinary. Trained, Mentored, developed staff, resolved problems and built an effective and engaged team dynamic. Prepared, collated and produced a range of reports; board reports for all operational teams for the CFO, broker risk & exposure reports and a quarterly review meeting with the Head of Risk, client & market allocation trade reports with analysis to the Head of Compliance. Supported the Company Secretary on a range of sensitive matters from takeovers to employee share schemes.

Liaised with Portfolio Managers in the UK, Jersey and Hong Kong regarding the opening or closing of accounts and transfer of clients’ assets. Liaised with other fund manager, stock brokers, investment platforms and ISA providers to arrange the timely and efficient transfer of all assets, both in and out of Cazenove Capital across all markets globally. Opened over 16,100 portfolios, closed over 4,900 accounts, processed over 40,000 market trades and migrated over 2,200 ISA Plans. Reported to management, clients and auditors ensuring that company policy & procedures, Client SLA’s and all internal controls were followed within the team. Ensured all KYC and AML documentation requirements were received and fulfilled in order to open or close an account. Project managed - Individual registration, own name securities, 3rd party custody & reconciliations assignments. Client Services quarterly sign off for the Transitions Team. Key staff responsibility – 7 direct reports.Controlled the asset transfer (circa. $450M) for The Absolute Return Trust for Charities (hedge fund of funds) from Cazenove Capital's custody account to HSBC in 2009. Main tester for the implementation & development of the Simcorp Dimension 4.1, 4.3, 4.5, 4.6 & 4.9 upgrades.

As a result of the corporate restructure of the parent company (Cazenove & Co Investment Bank entered in to a Joint Venture with JPMorgan), assisted the in-sourcing project, migration of securities from RBSI and Greenwood Nominees (circa. £11bn). Custodian due diligence, appointment and the transfer of assets. Set up the transition team, recruited and trained staff. Key staff responsibility – 3 direct reports.

Able to communicate at all levels through daily liaison with clients, trustees and accountants, building strong relationships. Completed a diverse range of daily duties such as production of client letters, investment reports, valuations, performance breakdowns, payments, cash management, arranging trades, 3rd party subscriptions, investigation of client queries, checking of settlements, maintain portfolio spreadsheets and custody issues. Project Management: Involved as a tester within “Project Athena” the implementation & testing of the new system, Simcorp Dimension

Contact point for International private client services, responsible for 4fFund directors and 10 fund managers in London, Jersey & Chester, with around £3bn in funds under management. Daily duties the same as the UK position (below) but more complex as the majority of the clients were based internationally and held sizeable sums of foreign currencies. This position involved daily cash management, checking trade settlements, foreign custody queries and foreign exchange deals. Worked out complicated exchange rate differentials calculations. Daily liaised with private clients, bankers, trustees and custodians worldwide. In December 2003 was put in temporary control of the desk, managing and training new members of staff. Key staff responsibility – 2 direct reports.

Contact point for UK private client services, responsible for 2 fund directors, 8 fund managers in London, Salisbury and Oxford, with around £3.5bn in funds under management. Carried out various duties such as production of valuations, calculating time-weighted performance reports, money transfers and payments, foreign currency deals, checking standing orders, maintaining client information and any other administration requests. Responsible for updating client CGT history and managing the transition process for new and closing clients.Independently undertook and researched a successful project to reduce costs regarding the usage of BACS / CHAPS payments, it was believed to have saved in the region of £250,000 per year.

Responsible for the accurate daily, monthly and periodic pricing of securities critical for client valuations, online portfolios, calculating funds under management and client charges. Undertook a successful project to reduce costs regarding unused/ no longer required data subscriptions we received, which resulted in a saving of £9,000 per year.

Leeds, Yorkshire

Liaised with management to discuss future campaigns in order to advise client representatives and retailers regarding their sales and advertising throughout Yorkshire. Controlled the team rotas, organised and coordinated weekly team meetings. Part of a team which was involved with the changing the paper to a tabloid format, which increased sales by 11% in the first six months after the change. Promoted to Team Leader and placed in charge of team of twelve to coordinate the distribution of the Metro publication throughout Yorkshire.
