User Experience DesignerIbm Jun 2013 - Nov 2015Austin, TxMy work here began on the IBM Security portfolio, designing AppScan Enterprise - software that "enables organizations to mitigate application security risk and achieve regulatory compliance." What's that mean? Well, in a nutshell, it finds security flaws in business applications and presents them to the user in a clean, digestible way so it gets fixed as soon as possible. Basically, this product prevents hackers from destroying your company. AppScan Enterprise? More like BADASS ENTERPRISE!My work then spanned the IBM Cloud group. First, I led the research effort on a release of IBM Cloud Orchestrator - a cloud management tool that allows users to deploy and manage public, private, and hybrid clouds. I then joined the core team for IBM Service Engage - a suite of business service management applications. Finally, I became heavily involved in projects with IBM Bluemix and Cloud Foundation Services to create the future of cloud infrastructure (IaaS) and platform (PaaS) services. Overall, I was constantly in touch with users - understanding, exploring, prototyping, and evaluating in every step of the design process - working toward making IBM Cloud the most efficient, powerful, delightful-to-use experience for every user.Additionally, I regularly assisted the recruiting team by evaluating portfolio applications, conducting phone screens, moderating design challenges, and 1:1 on-site interviewing of candidates. This definitely helped keep me current in design, while allowing me to contribute to the selection of my co-workers! WOOT! -
