I oversaw a high-performing team and led them through a software conversion. Evaluated and planned workflows for accounting, purchasing, and warehousing departments.

I modernized the property tax system in many ways, including the implementation of a third party software. I integrated a system that was formerly several small companies and run by different departments into one efficient process. I supervised a Tax Analyst and multiple teams of consultants with various sets of expertise. I compiled cash activity for all tax types and provided cash forecasting to the FP&A and accounts payable departments. I provided tax estimates for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and asset sales. I also negotiated tax savings with state and local jurisdictions, sometimes including litigation. I managed a multi-million dollar annual budget spread across 20+ states.

I oversaw the real and personal property tax function for all locations. I prepared state and locally assessed property tax returns. I assisted with research and interdepartmental projects on a regular basis.

I prepared monthly internal financial statements on GAAP basis. I started a system of budgeting projects by pay item to enable real-time analysis of job progress. I supervised and reviewed the annual audit and preparation of tax returns. I corresponded with third parties to facilitate financing, insurance, and bonding arrangements. I moved financial record storage from paper to digital. I was also responsible for monitoring contract compliance.

I worked on a wide variety of projects. I have drafted financial statements for government entities, not for profits, corporations, and sole proprietorships. I have supervised several audits and prepared tax returns for a very diverse group of entities.

I served one year in Afghanistan training and assisting the Afghan National Police. I was in charge of maintaining all of our team's mission essential communication equipment in addition to my regular duties. I created an inventory management system that accounted for every piece of communications equipment at all times to prevent lost equipment and save time. I served as an interim team or squad leader on a number of occasions.
