SpendSmart is McDonald's USA indirect procurement. This division helps corporate owned stores, corporate employees, and owner operators buy products at negotiated prices all from one site.During my internship I assisted users in order placement and entering multiple restaurant orders. Also, I helped improve compliance first through tracking and then through meaningful improvements to the order system to assist restaurants in ordering. Through the entire internship, I worked to identify the top products across multiple suppliers and then create a standard naming convention for ease of comparison shopping to directly improve the restaurants' and overall company's overhead expenses.

The Business Careers House is focused on creating an environment for the students to grow both intellectually and socially. As a House Leader, I ensure that there is an opportunity for the residents to achieve his or her highest level of success in higher level education. The Business Careers House host activities to promote profesional development through events such as dinning etiquette, dine & discuss with professionals, and resume building. Other events are hosted to build the social atmosphere such as movie nights, sports nights, and study groups. Through my three years as a House Leader, I have had the opportunity to help many residents build the skills they need to become successful not just in his or her academic career, but also in finding employment in both internships and full time careers.

Project Description: McDonald's IT Foundation business unit would like to engage a team of students to identify and track needs of its customers. As a service organization, it is essential that IT Foundation find ways to better engage with its customers and identify and track their changing needs. In order to build a reputation as a proactive, on-trend customer service provider, the IT Foundation department needs insight into who uses its services and tools, and how they use them. In turn, IT Foundation must learn how to respond to complex customer needs through meaningful metrics and appropriate reporting and they need to be able to tie this information back to how they work today in the McDonald's workplace.
