-Coordinate, maintain, and review school bus routes and stops for the SSRSB- Managing multiple projects simultaneously throughout each school year- Ensure bus route efficiencies and cost effectiveness of bus driver paid time- Report to and make recommendations to the Coordinator of Operations, Director of Operations and Superintendent of Schools on various issues such as school review processes, policy updates, and transportation efficiencies- Assist in the development and implementation of School Board Transportation Policies- Recruit and manage/supervise private conveyors to transport students with special needs- Implement and administer new bus routing software, Busplanner.- Ensure that all bus stops comply with the Nova Scotia Motor Carrier Act and National Safety Code and that bus drivers adhere to these regulations- Continuous in-field management of bus routes and stops- Manage and administer fleet GPS tracking system- Build and maintain civic address database for bus stops using ESRI Arc GIS software- Responsible for overseeing the effective and safe transportation of 6000 pupils daily- Present detailed reports and efficiency suggestions to school board officials- Interaction with the public including parents, community members and school board officials; resolving issues and discussing matters of a sensitive/confidential nature
