A Cal Berkeley mechanical engineer with twenty-five years of experience in precision engineering and opto-mechanical design and analysis in programs ranging from technology demonstration and product development to product deployment in ground, air, and space platforms. Developed space telescopes instruments operating at cryogenic temperatures, high energy lasers, beam pointing and control systems, spectrometers, spectrographs, interferometers, and single and multiple aperture imaging systems. Accomplished in precision flexure mechanisms, metering structures, and very rugged and stable kinematic optic mounts that exhibit minimal beam distortion over large variations of temperature and gravity loading. When I'm not working, I'm usually in my home workshop machining, welding, heat treating, and wiring whatever project I am working on at the time or I'm trying to learn about something I know nothing about.
