Preparing for next opportunity:*35 hour PMP test preparation class and passed the PMP exam. *Working is sales/management for continual development of people skills.I have been in Project Management for the past 15 years with multiple responsibilities from Pre-Proposal through Commissioning and Start-up. While my career started in maintenance as an Instrumentation Technician, it moved rapidly into construction as an Instrument Foreman/Technician running a crew of Instrument Fitters. I also helped in bidding projects and completed work well within the forecasted man-hours. This “can do” attitude proved itself at Stone Container in Florida when two technicians (me and another tech.) could finish testing all interlock devices during a turnaround when previously five technicians could not complete the work. After this I worked as Instrumentation Inspector for a new construction project, continued my education and worked a mixture of maintenance and new construction before landing a position as Instrument and Control Systems Engineer. I worked several projects in this capacity while having other engineers under my direction. Through company layoffs and others leaving, I became “Principal Engineer” for the Komi Project in Russia performing final calculations for process and piping data and explaining this information to the client. With fewer people in the Projects Group, I moved into the role of Project Management. One project that was done on a T&M basis opened many opportunities for the company because it far exceeded the client’s goals of cost and schedule. I have had a very rewarding career so far, with positions that stretch my knowledge and abilities to new levels. I have also worked with many different cultures and traveled to foreign countries like Japan, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and New Jersey. I am looking forward to expand my knowledge and abilities to serve whoever I am working for to the best of my ability.

Qualifying Party for Louisiana Contractor’s License, helped with Proposal work (negotiations with vendors and subcontractor) and Expediting.*Noltex Project $300M and Kaneka Project $30M, TX – Proposal work (negotiations with Clients, Vendors and Contractors), various support roles negotiating with Client, Vendors and Contractors.*NAII Project $100M, TX – New Specialty Polymers plant. Pre-Proposal through Start-up as Project Management/Field Manager with a focus on Instrumentation. Worked with Client, Vendors and Contractors to plan, purchase, and execute the project. 3 main contractors had to be coordinated Civil & Structural (design build), Equipment & Piping (Fabricate and install), and E&I (installation).*Sanyo Project $30M, TX – Grassroots Acrylic Polymer Plant. Pre-Proposal through Start-up as Project Management/Field Manager for EPCM, T&M project. Worked with the client to develop the conceptual design. Then directed engineering company in the detailed design of the process and utilities and the architectural company on the civil and building design. Developed bid packages for construction, evaluated bids, negotiated contracts, and oversaw completion of work.This was a key project for Toyo’s future work with other Japanese clients because it was completed early and under budget.*Various Proposals and small projects, World Wide – Pre-Proposal and Proposal work. Resolve technical and commercial issues with vendors, expediting and inspections.

While many of my activities in Project Management had a strong focus on Instrumentation, the following projects were nearly 100% focused on Instrumentation until the Komineft project. In an Instrument and Control Engineer and Project Engineer role:*Komineft , Russia– Oil Separation Unit in Northern Russia. Project Engineer. P&ID development, plant layout, coordination with equipment supplier and clients on process, instrument/control, electrical and mechanical issues. Assisted in startup and operation acceptance Test.*Megionneftegas, Russia – Engineered Five Oil Separation units with pump/ metering station, and water injection in Siberia. P&ID development, plant layout, instrument and control system specifications, coordination with vendors and client.*Condea Vista, LA – WAO Caustic Treating Unit. P&ID development, Instrument specifications, coordination with client, and refined operating instructions for unit.*Petrobras, Brazil – FCCU. Develop contract for Instrument design work and oversee design contractor in Brasil. Technical consulting for procurement on instrument issues.*Rimtec, NJ – Plastics Compounding Plant. Field engineering/ supervision for instruments, controls and electrical, direct coordination with vendors and client.*Various Small Projects – Test Separators, Desalters, Deaerators, ect.*Business Development – Estimations, Proposals, Technical Consulting.*Procurement – Technical Consulting for procurement department.
