BYRON BUCKLEY is a communication strategist with more than 30 years of experience across the public and private sectors. A former president of the Press Association of Jamaica and former vice-president of the Association of Caribbean Media Workers, he currently offers training, coaching and strategic advice to corporate executives and organizations.Byron has held the positions of news editor, associate editor, and special projects editor at The Gleaner newspaper in Jamaica. He also worked as a political/parliamentary reporter for the Jamaica Information Service, and the Jamaica Observer newspaper. He has written voluminously on a wide range of public affairs issues as a columnist/commentator for The Gleaner newspaper. In the field of public relations and corporate communication, Byron served as press secretary and communication officer in the Office of the Prime Minister of Jamaica, where he provided media and public relations services for the prime minister. He also served as a communication specialist for several cabinet ministers in Jamaica. He is currently the director of corporate communication, marketing and public relations at Northern Caribbean University, Jamaica.A qualified training and development professional, Byron has presented and lectured extensively on public relations, journalism, crisis communication/management. He is an adjunct presenter at the e-Campus of the Jamaica Stock Exchange.
