Product Marketing LeadKiva.Org May 2010 - Sep 2012I built the product marketing function at Kiva, which beforehand had relied on earned media exclusively. Conceived and executed marketing initiatives that set successive records at Kiva, including a free trial campaign that acquired 10,000 new customers over two days (25x normal). Developed an email strategy that created an entirely new revenue source for Kiva at nearly zero cost. Through email optimization, Kiva now successfully upsells users on a recurring basis, driving nearly $10mm in 2011. Together with PR, conceived and took to market a co-promotion with Groupon and Oprah that was so successful it crashed Groupon’s servers, but which resulted in >20,000 new customers over a 3 day period. Managed agency relationships, working on OOH and viral video projects launching in early 2012. Responsible for $2mm advertising budget. Worked with product to plan and execute strategy to increase user invitation via social media, creating one of the largest & most qualified new customer channels, growing at almost 10% per month.Helped lead cross-team effort to revamp look and feel of Kiva’s entire website, increasing new user conversion and giving the site its first significant update since 2007. -
