In this role I was responsible for a portfolio of strategic projects and facilitation that supported department and City visions as outlined in our strategic plans. I led on the expansion of the Tacoma Equity Index to include our County and Utility jurisdictions, and created a reputation for Tacoma as a national thought leader on equity mapping. I also led the coordination of the Tacoma Anchor Network which built trust and relationship between governmental and private partners to focus on community wealth generation in Tacoma.

Building on past experience in my role as a Management Fellow and in recognition of exceptional service to the team, I took on the City Council Policy Analyst role. In this role I fostered positive relationships with City Council members, city officials, and community stakeholders, establishing trust and credibility in the role of Council Policy Analyst. I also played a key role in advising City Council Members on pressing issues, offering strategic insights, and contributing to informed decision-making processes. Additionally, played a pivotal role in facilitating resident engagement activities, fostering community relations, and ensuring effective communication between the council and constituents during a time of rapidly shifting expectations and challenges.

Distinguished recipient of a two-year nationally competitive fellowship, showcasing expertise in local government leadership through comprehensive rotations in the City Manager’s Office, City Council Office, Neighborhood and Community Services, and the Office of Management and Budget. Through this role I acquired a multifaceted understanding of municipal operations, strategic planning, and fiscal responsibility. Notable projects during my tenure included the creation of the city's first nationally-recognized youth commission, spearheading the 5-year review of the Neighborhood Council Program including resource reprioritization and municipal code changes, facilitating partnerships and administrative changes required to rename the Fishing Wars Memorial Bridge and host a dedication event, and providing direct policy support to eight council members.

The Transportation Commission consists of eleven members. Nine of the voting members appointed by the City Council are City residents. Five are Representatives from each of the City’s Council Districts. Two members are non-voting members appointed by the City Manager. In this role I represented District 5, and contributed to discussions and research that supported updates to the City's transportation Master Plan.

In this role I worked directly with the Assistant to the City Manager and other municipal leaders to explore various research topics and community challenges. As an intern in the City Manager's Office I also had the opportunity for direct mentoring by executive staff and had a hands-on learning experience in municipal government leadership. A few significant projects I was able to lead on included providing direct executive support for a community committee focused on inclusive events, the coordination of the City's first community cleanup event which is now an annual event, and improving the city's commitment to justice and inclusivity by enhancing public defense and investigator services, as well as social services support for low-income defendants through an $80,000 award from State Public Defense Improvement Grant

UPASS is the universal transit pass available to University of Washington students that allows them unlimited travel on most transit agencies in the Puget Sound for a flat quarterly fee. In collaboration with UW Transportation services, graduate and undergraduate students work to educate students on the UPASS program, and work with agency partners to bring value to the program. During my tenure on the board, we will implement our adopted work plan that focuses on a review of the program, evaluating night ride operations, connecting with branch campuses, and partnering with transit agencies and bike-share providers to increase the use UPASS.

Greater Seattle Area

The point of this task force was to evaluate security cameras on campus and make recommendations as to coverage and policy. The attached report was the culmination of four months of work by invested parties from across the University of Washington campus representing students, police, administration, law, housing, emergency management, and more. I represented the student voice as a part of the task force. My contribution to the task force was to research other universities and find the best practices in other security camera programs. In collaboration with students on campus I drafted a security camera policy and recommendations that students wanted to see in the final report. This policy draft and student recommendations guided the development of the final policy in this report, and the recommendations given.

I took this role after a series of promotions within the student security team that worked with the campus Police Department. In this role I was responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling over 60 employees within the program, interacting with the public and partners to ensure program success, and working directly with Police Officers and the Program Director to manage program outcomes.

In this role I worked with the Campus Police Department to support them through security patrols of campus and buildings, actively enforcing low-level infractions, and ensuring the safety of students and visitors on campus during football games, events, and during the night.

As a community resident advisor I lived in the a university residence hall, and supported community and academic success through educational and social events, enforcing housing and university policies and adjudicated low level violations as needed, providing 24-hour on duty building security, and providing front desk administration for the building.
