I began my legal career in 1985 as a general practitioner with an emphasis on bankruptcy matters. Since 1988, my practice has focused virtually exclusively on bankruptcy law as a transactional bankruptcy practitioner in all aspects of consumer and commercial bankruptcy cases under Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13 of the bankruptcy code. My practice has involved representing consumer and business debtors, creditors including banks, independent motor vehicle lenders, and municipalities in tax matters, and parties in interest. I served as a Chapter 7 Trustee for the District of Maryland, Northern Division from 1998 to 2012. I have provided representation in bankruptcy cases in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, California, Texas, and Delaware.Charter Member, Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland; Sustaining Member, American Bankruptcy Institute; andMember, Maryland State Bar Association (“MSBA”). One of the founding members of the MSBA Consumer Bankruptcy Section - served on the section council since inception for all but 2 years. Current Chair, MSBA Agriculture Law Section. Admitted - Maryland Bar - 1983, District of Columbia Bar - 1985, and Virginia Bar - 1993.Board certified, business and consumer bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification - 1993 to present.Vietnam era veteran - U.S. Navy (1966 - 1969).
