Until recently Chief Editor of an award winning ethnic paper in the UK and wrote in London Bangla, Sandesh and other publications. Served on many public bodies such as Health Authority, Probation Board, Police Liaison Committee, Sports Equal Opportunity and established a number of pioneering social and community projects, including an Indian Community Center and Asian Elderly Center. Supported a number of women's group and mental health initiatives. Headed Policy Unit and Capacity Building Unit and oversaw mental health initiative for Confederation of Indian Organisations (UK).
