Buddabugzz is a new brand of children's books designed to nurture mental health from infancy. WHY?According to The World Health Organization, 20% of children have mental health problems (http://www.who.int/features/factfiles/mental_health/mental_health_facts/en/) Many of these take root between the ages of 3-5*. However, Oxford University recently established that mindfulness is equally effective as prescription drugs when treating depression and anxiety*. If children learn mindfulness skills while they are young, it could prevent life restricting problems from manifesting at a later age. Mindfulness practice is key to keeping mental health issues under control. My aim is to combine exciting illustrations and narrative with simple mindfulness practices in a range of children's books that promote positive mental health from infancy. I intend on achieving this under the brand, Buddabugzz.HOW?In March 2015, I launched a campaign to publish my first Buddabugzz publication, "Zenji & the Muzzy Bug" on the biggest crowdfu​nding portal in the world, Kickstarter.com http://bitly.com/Buddabugzz.
