Buddy Ethridge serves as the Director of Digital Accessibility, working within the LSU Office of Civil Rights & Title IX and Office of ADA Coordinator. Buddy is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and implementing accessibility policy, procedures, and remediation plans, including the assessment, recommendation, and procurement of assistive technologies and compliant technologies and software. Buddy oversees the development of and helps to facilitate institution-wide annual training relating to current and emerging trends in assistive technologies, web and application development trends, and digital accessibility regulatory issues as they relate to higher education. Buddy directs annual departmental accessibility audits and assists with the development of remediation plans. Previously Buddy served as the Director of Academic IT at Louisiana State University. In this capacity, Buddy oversaw the campus Learning Management System (Moodle), the Digital Imaging and Video Services team, and other aspects of academic technologies used throughout the institution. Prior to an organizational restructuring, Buddy was the Director of Academic Technology Services (ATS), which in addition to his duties as the Director of Academic IT, included oversight of the Faculty Technology Center. Previous to becoming the Director of ATS, Buddy served as the LMS Administrator for more than six years. As administrator, Buddy was responsible for supporting the day-to-day processes of the LSU Moodle LMS, including working with ITS support personnel in developing and overseeing documentation of knowledge base content for LMS features and collaborating on the design and development of LMS enhancements. He acted as liaison between other LSU System campus LMS administrators and the outsourced Moodle hosting support (MoodleRooms), as well as coordinating and communicating LMS system-related events with ITS support and campus communications personnel.
