Manage Carestream's X-ray detector portfolio. Also responsible for the direct management of highly technical medical device product development projects. Commercialize electromechanical systems controlled by embedded firmware and application software through a regulated stage/phase gate type product development process. Developed control systems for high power RF plasma delivery system. Activities included system design and architecture definition, high-speed digital design (including DSP), FPGA development and some RF circuit design. High-speed design and signal integrity techniques were employed resulting in first pass success. This design included schematic design and layout using Cadstar, writing new firmware for the hardware (VHDL, C, or Assembly), and working closely with manufacturing to move the new boards into production. Typical control boards used a Xilinx FPGA (Spartan series) and a DSP (Sharc 21065L or TI TMS320).
