I am Andrew W. Buffa a Lance Corporal of the United States Marine Corps my, Military occupational specialty is (3521) Motor T mechanic. I was born January 1, 1989 in Elkins Park, PA and raised in Oak Park, MI my whole life where my family stayed. I decided to enlist in the Marine Corp at the ripe age of 28. I graduated boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Caroline. Then from there I went to (MCT) Marine combat training at Camp Geiger. After completing MCT I went off to Camp Johnson to where I would go and learn my MOS 3521 Automotive Maintenance Technician. I spent three months in the school house and got a 91 over all in class. After graduating from the school house, I went off to finally make it into the fleet where I would join 2nd Maintenance Battalion CLR 25. While in the fleet I would perform task such as: replacing engines, transmissions and, transfer cases, on multiple military vehicles like the; High Mobility Multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV) or better known as the Humvee, MTVRs(7-ton), and then the Logistic vehicle system replacement (LVSR).I worked for a few different companies before join the Marine Corps. First was when I was still in high school working for Firestone in Royal Oak, MI which I left there shortly after graduating high school, after that, I picked up a job working for Belle Tire (also in Royal Oak, MI.) as a Tire Technician changing Tires working over forty hours a week. After leaving Belle Tire I went to work with my cousin at this mom-and-pop shop named Master Auto Service in Troy, MI. I worked as a lube technician, changing oil, tires and assisting the mechanics with helping around the shop. I worked there for about three years. I picked up a job working for a factory after thinking it was time for a change working for Wolverine Packing Co which is located in Detroit, MI. Well working for this factory, I would pack ground beef for restaurants like: Five Guys, Texas Road House, Red Robin and other big chain restaurants. After working here for about three months I got recommended for the position as Line Leader. I would have a team of four people on My line. Two people would be putting the ground beef patties in a package and then the two others would be putting the packages in a box to ship it to the food chains. That was my final job before I decided to join the Marine Corps.
