As senior mechanical engineering students, me and my team members did our graduation project collaborating with Ford Otosan.Our aim was to build an autonomous scaled harbour, which is 5 meters by 5 meters, and contains an articulated truck trailer system, containers, 4 cameras put around the harbour and a modem to have a public communication network between computers, cameras and the truck trailer system.System just requests user to provide a final location for the vehicle. Until then, everything was done autonomously, including extracting a bird-view map of the harbour, path planning, path following and driving the vehicle. Importance of this project is while there are many developments on autonomous systems, this project is a prototype of it implementation on an operational site. In addition, there are no sensors on the vehicle, means that any truck trailer system can be easily integrated into the harbour and driven autonomously.I want to thank Ford Otosan for their support and ideas. I am also so much thankful to my team members for their dedication and discipline.
