Senior Backend Engineer I
When sports enthusiasts engage with each other in a significant way, it satisfies our universal desire for inclusion. GreenPark aims to enable the most ardent sports fans worldwide to establish their supreme fan community, linking with others who resonate with their unique fervor. Passionate fans now have a daily platform that provides uninterrupted access to impactful interactions with fellow fans and genuine demonstrations of individual fandom.I was a vital part of a dedicated backend engineering team, focusing on distributed systems. I used Golang for service development and Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform for deployment. We facilitated internal communication with Kafka and REST, and data storage and caching were handled by MongoDB and Redis. Our work centered on enhancing user experiences and driving revenue through features like game server management, matchmaking, user messaging, in-app commerce, and gamification of live event data. However, we also internal user experiences by developing live-ops tools and socket services. My accomplishments include:- Driving the migration from a polling frontend to backend socket updates using PubNub.- Implementing a game-server management service for increased control over multiplayer events, resource allocation, and matchmaking.- Architecting a message broker service for user messaging, including in-app and push notifications.- Designing an in-app commerce service to enhance user engagement and monetization and analyze product economy trends.- Enhancing a service for processing live sports events data from third parties to boost user engagement.I also led project meetings with both frontend and backend teams to design product features, address technical debt, and improve integrations. Collaborating with stakeholders and product owners, I contributed to planning, technical design, development, and deployment of key features, including in-app commerce, user acquisition, engagement, and moderation.
