As a highly accomplished business leader in imports/exports operations, I excel in directing domestic and international organizations focused on global sourcing, manufacturing, and production. Having worked and lived in Vietnam since 1998, I am well versed in setting up teams and working with strategic partners in Vietnam, China, and Malaysia. Having established and built multiple offices from the ground up in this region, I excel in hiring, training, and leading diverse professionals while cultivating strong relationships with both manufacturers and suppliers. Additionally, I quickly identify polices, processes, and best practices to enable achievement of operational excellence while facilitating large-scale, rapid growth. Most recently, I opened operations for Lane Home Furnishing, rapidly growing manufacturing and shipping from 50 to 1,000+ containers per month. In addition to setting up operational policies and best practices, I negotiated all of their contracts for product development – from raw materials to manufacturing – to achieve optimal quality and the best possible price point. Previously, I provided leadership for Standard Furniture’s IFM operation in Vietnam for more than a decade. During that time, I increased production more than seven fold while reducing operating costs by 70%. This required a deep understanding of the market as well as strong relationships throughout the region. I was able to leverage that expertise to optimize costs and develop critical relationships when the company launched their multimillion-dollar Joanna Gaines product line.Experienced in both startup and turnaround settings, my areas of expertise include: Operational Excellence, Team Building, Leadership, P&L Management, Strategic Planning, Quality Control, Policy Development, Process Improvement, Regulatory Compliance, Negotiations, Mentoring, and Communications.
